Other Damaged Structures

When a crime scene involves the detonation of explosives, and the possibility of undetonated materials exists, an experienced contractor is needed to preserve evidence critical to ongoing investigations while dealing with the discovery of undetonated explosives.

CDI is prepared to respond swiftly to structural emergencies, worldwide. Regardless of the cause of collapse, CDI can draw on its unparalleled progressive failure database and professional, third-party structural consultants to work with governmental agencies, property owners and contractors in stabilizing dynamic conditions, setting the stage for subsequent forensic investigation into the cause of the collapse, and emergency demolition operations as may be needed.

Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Responding first to the request of the General Services Administration (GSA) on an engineering basis to support FEMA’s response, and subsequently to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), CDI was able to assist in analyzing the integrity of the unstable Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

Our team coordinated with FEMA’s rescue and recovery efforts, salvaged DOJ documents from the structure, assisted in collection of evidence for the FBI’s investigation, prepared the building for implosion and completed the demolition sequence, all in a  continuous work program. CDI is equipped and hold the clearances to work closely with governmental agencies under complex project scenarios that demand professionalism and attention to detail while working under difficult site, political and emotional conditions.
